Classes
Advanced Shakespeare / Auditioning with Shakespeare
This workshop is for working actors - actors who are either playing or seeking roles in Shakespeare productions. Participants work both on pieces (monologues and scenes) of their own choosing and assigned material. (There will be no work on sonnets). All work is performed, (i.e., on its feet). Instructor's critique will include: text analysis/clarity; dramatic context; voice and speech; movement and gesture; use of self.
Enrollment is by audition.
Exploring Chekhov
There's only one playwright arguably more difficult to act than Shakespeare: Anton Chekhov.
This workshop is for actors who want to become more familiar with his plays and more comfortable inhabiting his characters. Participants work on assigned scenes and monologues. Focus will be on how to approach the playwright's unique and idiosyncratic style personally and naturally.
Enrollment is by audition.
